In a 20+ year career in affordable housing, John Okura has acquired, financed, and/or developed over $2.1 billion of multi-family units for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Of the nearly 12,000 total units he has developed/acquired, 60% have been affordable. These affordable developments have led to the investment of $275 million in LIHTC equity and total development costs exceeding $1.3 billion. Prior to joining the team at Horizon ELOM Holdings, he was senior director of finance for Jamboree Housing Corporation, one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing developers in California. He has also served as director of underwriting for a national tax credit syndicator, as well as the director of housing development for Jamboree. With a comprehensive background in acquisitions, finance, and the development of affordable housing, he has added capacity in a variety of disciplines.

John received his BA from the University of California, San Diego and is a LEED GA.
